Join the dynamic NewYorker, Clara Roberts-Oss {ERYT-500} on a 4 day core focused yoga intensive to deepen and strengthen your internal flame! Our fire center is found in our solar plexus. When we connect to it, we move from a place of power in our bodies and lives. When we strengthen our core, we are more integrated in our movements and breathe. In this workshop we will explore different ways to access that power. We will start each morning with a two hour Vinyasa practice connecting us to our centers. The lecture part of the course, Clara will go over the sequencing of the morning as well as giving you tools to integrate these sequences into your own practice and teaching.

DAILY SCHEDULE:

Day One:

What is the Core?

Going in-depth about Bandhas and on the how the “core” works so we can ignite our own practices. Also learning new pranayama (breathing exercises) to help add more vigor and strength to our asana practice.

Day Two: 

Learn how to create intelligent sequences based on Prana Flow’s sequencing model.

Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga cultivated by
Shiva Rea and the Global Vinyasa Collective of Teachers. Students of all levels are empowered to experience prana – the universal source of breath, life-energy and conscious intelligence – as the navigating source of yoga practice and vital living. Practitioners learn classical and innovative approaches to vinyasa yoga and the state of flow drawn from Krishnamacharya’s teachings, Tantra, Ayurveda, Bhakti, Somatics and Shiva’s teaching experience from the last fifteen years.

 

Day Three: 

Learn Core sequences to heat the body to prepare for inversions from the Forrest Yoga lineage.

Forrest Yoga is renowned as an intensely physical and internally focused practice that emphasizes how to carry a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life. The practice challenges students to access their whole being and to use Forrest Yoga as a path to finding and then cleansing the emotional and mental blocks that dictate and limit their lives. Students cultivate an acute awareness of their own practice and life process, creating a unique and powerful opportunity for them to make practical life decisions based on their own experiences.

 

Day Four:

Learning how to move from the most modified version of key peak poses into the most advanced variations. Expected poses to work with will be Peacock, Birds of Paradise, Dragonfly and King Pigeon.

Movement has always been sacred to me. I have danced my whole life, whether it’s been grooving to a good song, taking dance classes or flowing through a vinyasa, my body can’t get enough. I took my first vinyasa class in 2000 at Jivamukti Yoga Center. I had a feeling of arriving home. We moved through postures seamlessly with an emphasis of breath-body connection. The class gave me what the dance world didn’t, an emphasis on the internal journey.

I received my 200hr Vinyasa Certification with Lauren Hanna at Sonic Yoga NYC in 2003 and completed my 300hr Prana Flow Certification with Shiva Rae. Shiva had created a language for the kind of movement I’ve been doing my whole life. She, too, understood the idea of fluidity. Our bodies yearn to move like water and when we do, our bodies hum with excitement..

*This rate includes your yoga manual, all assignments, 1hr homework everyday and certificate of completion by Clara Roberts

Prerequisite:
Seasoned practitioners (2 years of practicing) and yoga teachers welcome.

Yoga Alliance and Certification:
All graduates will receive a certificate of completion by the end of the course. For Yoga Alliance Registered teachers, this training allows you to add 26 hours as CEC (Continuing Education Credits)
